A 15-year-old asylum seeker stabbed to death a 22-year-old woman who was working at a Swedish refugee center, CNN reports.
The fatal stabbing occurred Monday at a home for asylum seekers who are younger than 18. The refugee center is located in the town Mölndal in Western Sweden.
AFP reports Swedish police arrested the 15-year-old on a murder charge.
“These kind of calls are becoming more common,” Swedish police spokesman Thomas Foxborg told AFP. “We’re dealing with more incidents like these since the arrival of so many refugees from abroad.”
Sweden took in more than 160,000 asylum seekers in 2015, ranking second to Germany among European countries. Sweden accepted the highest number of refugees per capita.
