In an interview with FreeManPost at the 2017 Liberty Con in Prague, Liberland President Vit Jedlicka predicted that next week, for the first time ever, a state will officially recognize Liberland’s status as a country. Jedlicka says the state that plans to recognize Liberland is itself a partially recognized country that does not have full United Nations membership.
Jedlicka also discusses Liberland’s relations with Croatia and the increasing access his budding nation’s citizens and settlers have to the territory they claim. Additionally, Liberland’s founder and president delves into business and investment opportunities in the Balkan microstate, as well as plans to circulate a national cryptocurrency.
For some background on Liberland, watch a 2016 interview with then-interior minister Ondrej Prihonsky.
